Sergeant James Panamick is a proud member of M’Chigeeng First Nation. Sergeant Panamick has over 12 years experience, serving with UCCM Police since August 2015 and 4 years with Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service before joining UCCM Police. He also served as a board member on the UCCM Police Service Commission prior to becoming a police officer.
Sergeant Panamick has a passion for his community and regularly volunteers with the local minor hockey associations both as a coach and as a part of the executive. He has always been engaged in the community and knows that youth are our future. He developed an off-ice skills training program that he organized and facilitated for the past two years through the Lighting the Fire Within Program.
As a police officer he has served on the frontlines and was promoted to Acting Sergeant in 2022, where he remained until he was appointed as a full-time Sergeant within the organization in 2024. Sergeant Panamick is a SOCO and Breath Technician for the service along with holding other certifications and front-line supervisor training courses.
Sergeant Panamick has been instrumental in the Aambe Daamnidaa curriculum, and worked with a consultant to ensure it was culturally inclusive for the communities the organization serves and met key learning objectives.
