Lisa Jackson, originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, began her policing career with the Halifax Police Department in 1990. In 2003, after leading the legislative review of the Nova Scotia Police Act, she transitioned to a senior policing consultant role with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, managing the RCMP contract portfolio and advancing police governance training.
She later held senior roles with the RCMP in Ottawa and New Brunswick, and served as Deputy Chief of Police for Canadian Pacific Railway in Calgary.
Lisa holds a Master of Arts from Dalhousie University, where her thesis focused on women in policing in Atlantic Canada. A founding member of Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement, she has been recognized for her advocacy with awards from the Progress Club, Rotary Club, AWLE, and received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.
A published author and former instructor at the University of Calgary, Lisa has contributed to academic discourse on policing, most recently as co-author of a chapter in a Canadian university textbook. She currently serves on the board of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), continuing her commitment to advancing women in law enforcement.
